Nothing, leave all Item View Options to Inherit from Category, the layout is set by the item.php file and styling by the k2.css file.
You can see that K2 is displaying nicely with the existing Joomla template, no mods have been needed.

Armin van Buuren (born in Leiden, Netherlands on December 25, 1976) is a Dutch trance producer and DJ.

Deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse" is the stage name for the talented Joel Thomas Zimmerman a producer of progressive house and electro house producer based in Toronto, Canada.

His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2006, followed by others in the next few years.
On October 28, 2009, DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, placing Ultra Records artist deadmau5 at #6, a jump from #11 the previous year.

As well as his own extensive solo back catalogue, deadmau5 is recognised for his work alongside numerous other DJs and producers, such as: Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Pendulum, and Steve Duda under the BSOD alias.

Deadmau5 won a Juno Award in 2010 in the category of Dance Recording of the Year for the album For Lack of a Better Name.

This is an example of a K2 Item page that is using the default K2 template and layout from the component and does not use any template over rides.

Note: on this example, you will see some bullet points on some of the K2 functions, this is perfectly normal when K2 is used on some templates as its simply inheriting the UL and LI styling set in the Joomla template.

This can be rectified in most case by adding a list-style-type:none; to the offending style.
