Specialists at the University of New Mexico follow each community provider’s treatment plans to ensure that their patients receive high-quality care. Specialists are able to make mid-course adjustments when a patient does not adhere to the prescribed treatment. This can reduce the risk of failure in treatment and increases the likelihood of a positive outcome. Specialists can also make use of the ECHO system to monitor data and identifying areas of care that are not being met. This information is then given to local physicians so that they can better serve their patients.
